TRS working with BAE Systems to support people into jobs
You will no doubt be aware that BAE Systems announced a major redundancy programme at its shipyards on the Clyde and in Portsmouth in November 2013.
BAE Systems is committed to supporting its employees in gaining re-employment in the UK, particularly in the Manufacturing and Engineering sectors that TRS supports.
Since the announcement in November, BAE Systems has been working with TRS to improve the visibility of affected employees and promote their availability to prospective employers and member companies across the TRS community.
Member companies will now be able to search specifically for BAE Systems employees using the new ‘Corporate Restructuring Programmes’ option in the ‘Search People’ section on TRS. Feedback from recruiting member companies indicates this will be a more effective way to match people with vacancies and companies will also have the confidence of knowing that these employees are actively searching for a new role and that their last employer was BAE Systems.
BAE Systems has been promoting TRS as the one of their recommended solutions for employees to register their CV and Personal details in the public domain so that recruiting companies can view their skills, knowledge and contact details through the TRS system.
At the time of writing this e-mail, over 300 BAE Systems Employees across a wide range of Engineering and Manufacturing disciplines and from all Business Support functions have registered their personal profile on TRS and more are also expected to register in the near future.
Please can we encourage you to take a look at this new capability on the TRS system and specifically start to review BAE Systems employees details against your vacancy requirements. We have BAE Systems approval for you to actively make direct contact with their employees through the TRS system with a view to filling your vacancies.

We would be pleased to hear of any successes you have in recruiting BAE Systems employees through the TRS system and would welcome your feedback about this new facility as we continue to enhance its reputation as a tool for supporting the attraction, development and retention of Manufacturing and Engineering skills in the UK.
With best regards
